Room 3 Working from home resources

Dear Parents,

I hope you and the children are keeping well during this difficult time.

I have assigned work to the children to ensure continuity of learning and to help provide some structure and routine to the childrens’ day.

English

Phonics:

  • please revise all sounds. All the jolly phonics songs and stories are available on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2HYM9VXz9k
  • Jolly Phonics – please revise all tricky words. I have put the new set of tricky words in the children’s folder.
  • Jolly Phonics – Workbook 2 pages a week starting with page 21 – j.
  • Revise word boxes in red word box copies.
  • Another phonics revision website is   https://www.teachyourmonstertoread.com/

Writing:

  • Write your news in the news copies: What have you been doing? Have you done any new cooking or art?
  • Just Handwriting book: Revise one letter a week. Starting with i pages 40 and 41.

Reading:

  • For reading practice https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/ – this is a fantastic resource and can be used at home to help practice phonics. reading, handwriting and games. You can also access ebooks on this site and find appropriate readers for the children by clicking onto their age group.
  • Draw a picture in your Zoom Ahead copy.
  • Read other books from home.

Maths:

  • Planet Maths – 2 pages a week starting with pages 90 – 91 capacity – full and empty.
  • You can register for free with Folens. Planet Maths is available from Folens. Register as a teacher with roll number Prim20 ( https://www.folensonline.ie/registration/?r=t ). There are lots of games and activities on the site.

I would just like to remind you that these suggestions are optional, please do not feel under pressure to complete all of this work.
