Room 9 – Work for Week Beginning 22/06/20

19th June 2020

Hello My Wonderful 3rd Class Girls,

Happy last week for school work before the summer break! Congratulations to you all on completing 3rd Class. I hope this email finds you and your families safe and well. It was so lovely to catch up with some of you last week at our Google Meet. I hope you enjoyed it as much as me! And thank you to those of you who returned your school books to school this week so that they can be passed on to the incoming 3rd Class girls in September 2020.

As it’s the last week I have kept the workload light. One final push from you is all that is needed and then you can relax for the summer 🙂 Below is a list of suggested work for next week Monday 22nd June 2020. Remember to just try your best with it! Don’t forget to break it up, try doing English for 20/30mins and then change to Maths for 20/30 mins etc.

Reading: Choose a story/book from home and read it

Spellings: Learn list 36 ex (Why not test yourself at the end of the week to see how you got on?)

English: Write a story/poem/song or rap about Summer time

Maths: Tables x or ÷ (You choose which one you think you need to practise and test yourself). Master Your Maths, Week 28 Test p.93

Gaeilge: Bua na Cainte 3 – An Samhradh Draw the picture Cois Farraige (The Seaside) p.156 in your copy and label it. Read the story Cois Farraige p.157 and try to answer the questions orally.

SESE: You Choose Your Tour!

Google have a wonderful tour which will transport you back in time to The Easter Rising in Dublin in 1916. There are photos from that period as well as today. It is really interesting to see how places looked in Dublin over a hundred years ago and to listen to the events of the Easter Rising. You will find it here; https://dublinrising.withgoogle.com/welcome/ OR

The Giants Causeway is Northern Ireland’s most famous landmark and has been an official Unesco World Heritage Site since 1986. The Giant’s Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption. It is very scenic and a sight to behold. Take the tour here;

I hope you have a lovely week girls and remember you can email me if you like. As always remember to be good, help out at home and to contact your grandparents!

Best wishes.
Ms Mc Auley
