We had great fun doing chalk drawings in Room 9.
Firstly we looked at different examples of outdoor chalk drawings on the interactive whiteboard. We saw some really creative drawings for example where one artist drew an elephants body around a drain pipe which was used as the trunk and where another artist integrated a crack on the ground into a picture of a tree with owls sitting on the branches.
We talked about what type of chalk drawings we could do that would be suitable in the infant yard.
We also discussed the materials already in the yard that we could incorporate into our drawings.
We took photographs of our work in progress with drawings of pigs, houses, flowers, cars, princesses, robots and many more.
This was a great outdoor art lesson. We’re hoping the rain stays away so we have our drawings a little while longer.
