Our History

St Mary’s National School is situated behind Fairview Church, between Philipsburgh and Windsor Avenues. The school has served the children of Fairview, Ballybough , East Wall , North Strand and surrounding areas for over a hundred years. The current school was built in 1953 and consisted of a Junior school and a Senior school, both housed in the same building.
Prior to that time there was a two roomed school in the grounds of Fairview church where the parish hall stands today. In 1992 the Junior and Senior School amalgamated into one .
Every year we are welcoming the second and third generations of local families to our school, something we are very proud of.
